Cleaning Your Vape Mod Tank

Cleaning Your Vape Mod Tank

Nothing beats vaping from a freshly cleaned tank. If your tank is getting grungy, it may be time to perform a deep clean to get it sparkling again. You will know when it’s time to clean your vape mod tank when you notice residue building up on the inside, when your clouds aren’t as large as they usually are, and/or when the flavour starts to taste funky. Before cleaning your vape mode tank, check the wick and the coil for wear and tear. Gather replacement pieces if needed. Remember, if your tank is a dual coil system, you will need two replacement coils. You will also need a small bowl, towel, cotton swabs, and a cleaning solution such as pure white vinegar or rubbing alcohol. Now that you have gathered all necessary tools, it’s time to clean your tank!

Step 1: Disassemble Tank

First you will want to take apart your vape mod tank. Usually the tank unscrews from the battery section of the device. After wiping down the outside of the battery half, set it aside until you are ready to reassemble your device.  Dump out any excess e-juice from the tank and then remove as many pieces as you can so you can access every crevice within your device. The more pieces and surfaces you can clean, the better your sessions will be afterward.

Step 2: Soak the Pieces

After rinsing any excess juice off of the pieces, you will want to let them soak in your cleaning solution for 20 minutes to an hour, depending on how soiled the pieces are. Use an old toothbrush or cotton swab to loosen any stuck-on grime. If the coil is too old or too soiled, cleaning may not do much good and you will have to replace it. Usually coils last a few weeks to a few months, depending on how often you vape. If changing coils becomes too much of a pain, you can try disposable tank models, which replaces the wick and coils with each new cartridge so you don’t have to worry about reassembling it all.

Step 3: Thoroughly Rinse Every Piece

If you are using vinegar or rubbing alcohol to clean your tank, you will want to thoroughly rinse every piece before reassembling. Vaping alcohol fumes can be extremely dangerous, and vinegar will leave behind a bad taste.

Step 4: Let Dry

Once every piece has been cleaned and rinsed, you will want to dry them with a towel or let them air dry until completely dry. Then you can reassemble your tank, refill with new e-juice, and enjoy the fresh vapes to come!

Cleaning your vaporizer should become a regular habit, if it’s not already. Cleaning your device not only helps the flavour stay as pure as possible, but it is also more hygienic as well. Every time you switch e-juice flavors, you will want to clean your tank as best as you can. Leftover flavors can create some interesting, and not always pleasant, flavour combinations!
